Founded in 1992, the Dimitrie and Aurelia Ghiaţă Memorial Museum is a smaller and less known museum in Bucharest. It gathers a collection of works by Dimitrie and Aurelia Ghiaţă, and it is set up in a former residence of the two artists.

Dimitrie Ghiaţă made his way through on the artistic scene of Bucharest by a series of works (paintings, drawings) the originality of which was repeatedly acknowledged by the sundry prizes the artists had received in the course of his life. Aurelia Ghiaţă, on the other hand, while a painter less reputed than her husband, is famed for her decorative artworks.

The artistic patrimony of the museum is complemented by a consistent documentary asset.
